Game Rules

  • All runs performed using the Switch Virtual Console release of the game need to be retimed to account for differences in framerate.
  • mGBA with a BIOS is the only allowed emulator. In addition, all emulator runs must show a hard reset that displays the GBA BIOS (the GameBoy jingle and logo).
  • Use of the fast-loading glitch on Wii U VC is not allowed.

Any%

Beat the game as quickly as possible.

Timing

  • Time starts on 1 player select.
  • Time ends on the last Dark Mind hit.

Times below 30:00 must be done on an official release.

100%

Beat the game as quickly as possible with 100% completion. This includes collecting every chest, visiting every room, and hitting all switches.

Timing

  • Time starts on 1 player select.
  • Time ends when the 100% complete screen appears

Times below 1:15:00 must be done on an official release.

Boss Endurance

  • Time starts on 1 player select.
  • Time ends on the last Dark Mind hit.

Extensions

Any% Co-op

Beat the game as quickly as possible with multiple players. Categories are separated based on the number of players, as well as the use of an emulator or console due to differences in the amount of lag.

  • Timing begins when you select which player's file to use after connecting.
  • Timing ends on the last hit of Dark Mind.

100% Co-Op

Beat the game as quickly as possible with 100% completion and with multiple players. This includes collecting every chest, visiting every room, and hitting all switches Categories are separated based on the number of players, as well as the use of an emulator or console due to differences in the amount of lag.

  • Timing begins when you select which player's file to use after connecting. To ensure the '100% Complete!' screen shows up on your video submission, use the file of whichever player is the primary focus.

All Goal Games

Complete every Goal Game as quickly as possible.

  • Timing starts when you select One Player.
  • Timing ends on the final frame of the Kirby Dance animation when you have completed all 16 goal games.

All Sprays

Collect every Spray Paint as quickly as possible.

  • Timing starts when you select One Player.
  • Timing ends on the first frame the Collection Room is visible to confirm you have all 14 sprays.

Any% NCA

Beat the game without obtaining or using a copy ability. Master is allowed for the Dark Mind fights.

  • Timing starts when you select One Player.
  • Timing ends on the last hit of Dark Mind.
  • If you accidentally obtain an ability (for example you hit an ability statue or an AI Kirby gives you a Magic mix), you are allowed to continue the run if you immediately discard the ability, and the incident provided no obvious advantage.
