Moley

Moley is the boss found in Cabbage Cavern. Due to the boss's high variance in RNG, the boss is usually fought early into the speedrun. There are multiple abilities available to defeat Moley with, and it comes down to preference which one you end up using.

Throw

Throw is the most straight forward ability to use, however relies on Moley tossing projectiles in order to deal damage. Ideally, Moley pops out from the bottom and tosses projectiles, at which point you can immediately pick them up and turn around to deal passive damage. If Moley appears in the ceiling, you have to jump just before Moley drops projectiles, land 2 hits while turning around if possible, and then throw the projectile back at Moley at a diagonal angle.

Hammer

Hammer is an alternative ability that can be used against Moley. It takes 3 upswings to defeat Moley, along with a bit of extra damage. The final bit of damage can either be dealt with a turnaround neutral swing, or the wind-up hitbox from the upswing. The downside of using Hammer is that ceiling patterns are less optimal, however this ability is slightly faster than Throw for ground patterns.

Stone

Stone is yet another alternative ability that is a little harder to use than the other two. It's major strength is dealing with ceiling patterns faster and more consistently than the other abilities. There are two ways to use it against Moley. The first way is to perform dash attacks in order to cross Moley with Stone active. The other way is positioning yourself in a sweet-spot right next to Moley, where you can deal damage with Stone without taking damage. When doing the latter method, you can simply spam the attack button for ground patterns. Generally you deal up to 2 hits each time you use Stone, and require 8 hits to beat the boss.
